The structure and diversity of vegetation treelets of tropical mountain forest on mount Bawakaraeng

Abstract The study about the diversity and structure of treelet vegetation in three slope areas on mountainous forest mount Bawakaraeng, Regency Gowa, Province South Sulawesi had been done. There were 17 species treelets throughout area, from 13 families 16 genera. Asteraceae family has highest number with 3 species, followed by Fabaceae Solanaceae which each 2 species. Pteridium aquilinum , Chromolaena odorata Breynia oblongifolia Pogostemon cablin are important value index. ranges 15-16. Treelet mostly found flat area. Shannon-Wiener index (H’) 2,033-2,161 was to be steep slopes lowest slopes. H’ same tendency as Simpson’s Diversity Index Evenness Pielou (E) reverse relationship Dominance Index.
